No internet sucks....but I'm here

I have no internet at my house. It sucks. I’m gunna have to look into getting it….I need my late-night surfing. I think both my roommates are up for splitting the cost...so hopefully by the end of this week I'll be able to sit in my room and use the computer. It’s an addiction.

On the plus side, it’s given me plenty of time to get unpacked….and now to write this blog(which I’ll post tomorrow from the coffeeshop.) I’ve also made a virtual tour of my house…quite a task, since I’m not as Photoshop savvy as I’d like.

So…first my favorite thing to read and write. A list of sights on my cross country drive.

-Driving through New Mexico, in the distance I see what looks like a tornado. It’s really faint, but big, and at first I think it’s just my eyes playing tricks on me. I continue to look at it and watch it move across the desert…away from me fortunately. I finally figure out that it’s a giant dust devil…and right about then it disappears.

-In Arizona, I see a cowboy out on his horse herding cattle. If that’s not good enough, about a ½ down the highway, I see another cowboy walking his horse…and he was wearing chaps!! (yes kyle, he had pants on underneath them)

-When I entered California, I had to drive through the Mojave desert. Along the sides of the highway, there was all this volcanic rock(or at least that’s what it looked like). There were all these words written with the pieces of black rock on the white sand. I was going to fast to actually read any of it, but I bet some of it had been there for a really long time. I really wanted to stop and leave my mark…but there wasn’t really any good place to pull over.

-As I drove through the San Bernardino National Forest, I thought to myself “This looks like pictures of Hawaii, where the clouds come down around the mountains….except I’m not in Hawaii, and the slight brown tinge to these clouds remind they aren’t clouds…but smog.” It was pretty gross.

-Getting closer to LA, on the opposite side of the 12-lane highway, there was a car pulled over by about 5 police cars. Behind the 1st police car, there a bunch of policemen…with their guns drawn and pointed at the car. Yikes!

But, I made it safe and sound. I even found parking for the van and trailer, so I was able to wait until Friday morning to take the trailer to Christina’s family’s house. It was closer than I remembered and her mom bought us In N’ Out….which was not as good as I remember.

Moving on….now begins the tour of my pad.

This is NOT my house. It is the house in front of my house. To get to mine, you go down a narrow pathway, which is very dark at night.

After to you get down the pathway, you see my cute little house. Not quite as fancy as the fronthouse...but not bad.

I live downstairs. I have my own entrance to my room(not that I use it that much...although, there is a screen door which is nice) and right outside my door is the hot-tub...too bad it's broken! Here is a picture of my room. You'll have to imagine it as a square. Unfortunately, the picture is kinda small and I can't figure out how to make it bigger...but you get the idea.

I can see the Hollywood sign from my deck...but it's too smoggy right now to make a good picture. I guess that just means people will have to come for a visit and see it in person.
I'm going to the library tomorrow where i can spend lots of time on the computer...jobhunting, blogging about my weekend, maybe talking to maggie. Right now though, my battery is almost dead, so I've got to head home.
I also bought a big mirror at a garage sale down the street from my house, so I have to go pick it up.
More soon!

Nice cowboy with pants on. Oh the Human-on-manity!

Like the pictures. Looks like a nice place. Well I'll have internet at Matt's when I move but I won't have cable. That's going to be a change since I'm pretty much addicted to HBO. Chow!
